Walkthrough
- 01
Pokémon GO catching mechanic
Pokémon appear in the overworld — toss Poké Balls (no battles for wild Pokémon).
- Aim the ring; smaller circle = bigger XP/catch bonus. Berries calm or slow Pokémon.
- Catch Combos (same species in a row) increase XP, IVs, and shiny rate.
- 02
Same Kanto gym order
Brock → Misty → Surge → Erika → Koga → Sabrina → Blaine → Giovanni.
- Each gym has a 'requirement' (e.g., Misty needs a Water Pokémon in your party). Easy to meet.
- Surge no longer has the trash-can puzzle — it's pure battling.
- Gym leader teams scale to the player's team level (capped per gym).
- 03
Coach Trainers
Optional master battles outside each gym — beat them for rewards and EXP.
- Each Coach Trainer specializes in one type — great practice and XP for level scaling.
- Defeat all of them for a Lure (raises wild encounter rate).
- 04
Mewtwo in Cerulean Cave
Same as the originals — needs all 8 badges.
- Mewtwo Lv. 70 — story battle first, then catch via the throwing mini-game. Use Razz Berries + Ultra Balls.
- 05
Master Trainer post-game
Beat 153 specialist trainers, each devoted to one Pokémon, for titles.
- Each Master Trainer uses ONE Pokémon at high level. Match-up matters more than raw power.
- Use a Pokémon of the same species (or a hard counter) — no items in battle.
Pro tips
- Co-op is local-only — a second person can join with a JoyCon for support battles.
- Catch combos increase shiny + IV chances — chain the same species.
- Connects with Pokémon GO via Bluetooth to get Meltan and Melmetal.
- No breeding, no abilities, simplified IVs — designed for newcomers.
Post-game
- Master Trainers across Kanto.
- Catch Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres.
- Get Meltan via GO Park transfers.
