Master Pikapedia in three minutes

Every feature, every shortcut, every hidden corner — explained in one friendly guide.

Welcome to Pikapedia — a modern, beautifully fast Pokémon database. This walkthrough will give you the grand tour in about three minutes.

Use the navigation bar at the top of every page to jump between the Pokédex, Regions, Games, Items, Moves, and Types.

The Team Builder button (top right) is your hub for assembling a team. The number badge updates as you add Pokémon.

An account isn't required to browse, but signing up unlocks the full Pikapedia experience — your trainer card, saved teams synced across devices, and a friendly intro from Professor Pine.

  • Head to Sign up and enter your email and a password — or use Google for one-click access.
  • Check your inbox for a welcome email and confirm your address.
  • Meet Professor Pine, who'll ask for your trainer name, look, and favorite Pokémon.
  • Visit your trainer card any time to update details or review your saved teams.

The Pokédex lists every Pokémon from Kanto through Paldea — over 1,000 entries with sprites, types, and stats.

  • Click any card to open the full entry with evolutions, abilities, and moves.
  • Regional variants (Alolan, Galarian, Hisuian, Paldean) get their own pages.
  • Scroll loads more entries automatically — no pagination needed.
  • Use the heart / add icon on a Pokémon page to put it on your team.

The Team Builder lets you assemble a six-Pokémon roster and get instant feedback on its strengths and weaknesses.

  • Add Pokémon from any Pokémon page or directly inside the builder.
  • See type coverage — what your team resists, what threatens it.
  • Save and revisit teams from the Saved Teams page.
  • Get an AI-powered rating on your composition with one click.

Step into the Team Rocket Design Lab to invent your own Pokémon from scratch — pick types, allocate stats, write a Pokédex entry, and generate an AI sprite.

  • Stay under the 600 BST budget for a competitively balanced design.
  • Add up to four moves, two abilities, and an optional hidden ability.
  • Get Giovanni's verdict — a graded review with suggested tweaks.
  • Save your creations locally and share them with friends via link.

Every mainline region has its own page in Regions: lore, native Pokémon, and notable locations. The Games hub covers each title with release info, Pokédex highlights, and version differences.

Meet the people behind the Pokédex. The Characters hub covers gym leaders, rivals, professors, villains, and champions from every region.

  • Browse by role — heroes, antagonists, gym leaders, Elite Four, and more.
  • Each card shows a trainer's team, signature Pokémon, bio, and famous quotes.
  • Visit the Anime section for characters exclusive to the show, from Ash and Misty to Team Rocket and beyond.

Three reference hubs cover the rest of the battle system:

  • Moves — power, accuracy, PP, type, and which Pokémon learn each one.
  • Items — held items, evolution stones, healing, TMs, and where to find them.
  • Types — the full effectiveness chart with offensive and defensive matchups.

The floating chat button in the bottom-right corner opens Rotom, your AI Pokémon companion. Ask anything: "What counters Garchomp?", "Best Fire starter for Sun teams?", or "Tell me Mewtwo's lore."

Rotom understands context — follow-up questions just work.

The compact player at the bottom of the screen plays classic Pokémon route themes while you browse. Click the dot on the timeline or volume bar to scrub — the filled portion shows your current position.

Hide it any time with the collapse button if you want silence.

Test your Pokémon knowledge on the Trivia page. Questions range from type matchups and Pokédex numbers to anime lore and character quotes.

  • Multiple difficulty levels — pick the class that matches your expertise.
  • Questions cover the Pokédex, types, evolutions, and the anime series.
  • Instant feedback with color-coded answers so you learn as you play.

Browse the Card Database for TCG-style cards, or use the Scanner to identify Pokémon from uploaded images.

  • Search cards by type, rarity, and set.
  • The scanner uses AI to recognize Pokémon from screenshots or photos.
  • Build your own Fakemon cards in the Design Lab and export them to share.
  • Bookmark a Pokémon page directly — every URL is shareable and SEO-friendly.
  • The header stays sticky as you scroll, so search and Team Builder are always one click away.
  • Pikapedia is mobile-friendly; the menu collapses into a hamburger on smaller screens.
  • All pages work offline once cached — try it on the train.
