Battle Strategy
Uxie functions as a premier defensive utility lead or a bulky Calm Mind sweeper. It utilizes its massive defensive stats to set up entry hazards or provide Momentum through U-turn and Memento.
Best Used In
Uxie excels in lower tiers like NU (Never Used) and RU (Rarely Used) as a pivot, and is a staple Lead in Sinnoh-themed VGC formats or Draft Leagues.
Strengths
- ›Massive base 130 Defense and Special Defense
- ›Access to utility moves like Stealth Rock, Thunder Wave, and Yawn
- ›Levitate ability provides a crucial Ground-type immunity
- ›High base 95 Speed for a defensive wall
Weaknesses
- ›Vulnerable to common Dark, Ghost, and Bug-type coverage
- ›Low Offensive presence without several Calm Mind boosts
- ›Extreme susceptibility to Taunt and Knock Off
- ›Passive nature can make it setup fodder for Steel-types
Competitive Tips
- ›Run Mental Herb to bypass a turn of Taunt to ensure Stealth Rock gets set.
- ›Utilize a Bold nature with Max HP and Defense to check physical threats like Machamp or Conkeldurr.
- ›Pair Yawn with U-turn to force a switch and maintain momentum on the incoming replacement.
- ›Consider Choice Scarf combined with Trick to cripple opposing defensive walls like Chansey.
- ›In lower tiers, a Sub-CM (Substitute and Calm Mind) set can win games if opposing Dark-types are removed.
