Step-by-step guide

Available only after defeating the Elite Four and clearing the Power Plant story.

Bring strong Pokémon — wild encounters here are level 50+ and include Chansey, Ditto, and Wobbuffet.

Navigate three floors of caverns with Surf to reach the deepest chamber.

Save before approaching Mewtwo at level 70. Use False Swipe and a status move (Sleep / Paralysis) for the catch.
