Stock up on Repels in Pewter — wild Zubat encounters are extremely frequent.

Battle the Team Rocket grunts on the lower floor and pick up the TM for Mega Punch.

Choose between the Dome Fossil (Kabuto) or Helix Fossil (Omanyte) — you can only take one.

Exit on the eastern side and continue south on Route 4 to Cerulean City.
